Learning Support & Extension
Learning Support
At St Heliers school, we recognise that sometimes children need extra support with their learning. We have a dedicated team of professionals who work with these children to increase their skills and build their confidence. Each child who joins our school undertakes an assessment to enable us to discover their current stage in reading, writing and mathematics. This assessment can also identify when students need additional support in these areas. Our Learning support team works with these students to help them reach a level where they can fully participate in all the learning opportunities at our school.
Learning Support Coordinator LSC
Our Learning Support Coordinator is based in the Learning Hub and is a part of our Leadership Team. They are responsible for the management and timetabling of all learning support, our learning assistants and children with high health needs throughout the school. The LSC meets regularly with the Deputy Principal.
Extra Learning Extension
To complement the core curriculum, St Heliers School provides a wide range of experiences and resources to foster student learning.
