School Zone

All students who live within the home zone shall be entitled to enrol at the school.

All students who live within the home zone described below (and shown on the map below) shall be entitled to enrol at the school.

Proof of residence within the home zone will be required.

Each year, applications for enrolment in the following year from in-zone students will be sought by a date which will be published in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. Out of Zone Enrolment

Each year the Board will determine the number of places for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. St Heliers School Board will determine whether a limited number of places are likely to be available in the following year levels for out-of-zone students for next year (2025). This will be advertised when applications open in Term 3, 2024.

Out of Zone applications for 2024 are now closed.  St Heliers School Board has determined that a limited number of places are likely to be available in all year levels for out-of-zone students for 2025. Exact numbers for each year group will be advertised on the school website, under 'How to Enrol' and in the local community paper.

The next ballot, if required, will be held in October 2024 for the 2025 school year.  Applicants will be informed within three school days of the ballot being held.

Applications for out-of-zone enrolments will be processed in the following order:

  • First Priority. This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary.

  • Second Priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.

  • Third Priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.

  • Fourth Priority will be given to applicants who are a child of a former student of the school.

  • Fifth Priority will be given to applicants who are children of Board employees. or members.

  • Sixth Priority will be given to all other applicants.

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued under Sections 71-75 and schedule 20  of the Education and Training Act 2020. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
